Welcome!
Yes, you're at the right place. Our name has
changed. We're now Houston Writers
Guild. If you haven't already, please change your links from www.fortbendwritersguild.org
to www.houstonwritersguild.org.
We have our weekly meetings
every Tuesday at the Borders in the
Fountain, Fountain Lake Circle at Highway 59, Stafford, Texas. Visitors are welcome
on a one-time basis. After that, membership is required.
See our Meetings page for
details.
Our weekly critique MEETINGS
are devoted to helping each other polish manuscripts for
publication. Our members are writing what is best described as
"mass market" and "genre" novels,
including mystery, romance, historical, women's interests,
sci-fi, young adult, and children's stories, and many of our
members have already been published. Almost all genre
are welcome.
In addition to weekly
meetings, Houston Writers Guild sponsors WRITERS
CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS and WRITERS
CONTESTS. Members are also able to attend special
workshops not open to non-members and receive special pricing
on workshops.
And best of all, we're a fun group.
We usually have a Christmas season social gathering for
members and their significant others and often we have a
Pre-Conference social.
2010
