HWG Press

Houston Writers Guild Press

The HWG Press is an integral part of the Guild.  Its mission is to serve as a role model of exemplary publishing standards while providing its authors an opportunity to get their name and work in the hands of readers. The sale of its anthologies and other merchandise help raise funds for the Guild as well as providing opportunities for published members to sell their books at various venues.

The press, under the direction of Andrea Barbosa, works with volunteer Guild members to create anthologies of authors work.  These anthologies are compiled, revised for content, edited for quality, and formatted to the highest standards in the publishing industry.  As the Guild books venues for selling its books, members are able to purchase shifts at the table to sell their personal books as well.   (see Book Selling Opportunities for more information)

Sales of our books and income from contest entries help the Guild  raise funds for its published authors’ programs.

Please visit our store and purchase the great books produced by the HWG Press as a way to help the Guild.  And don’t forget to leave us reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and other sites, so that together we can bring additional visibility not only to the Guild, but to the authors whose work is included in the volumes.

If you find an author whose work you like within the pages of our books, please follow and like that author.  Purchase other books by them.  Together, we can create a collaborative community of readers and writers!

Thank you for being a part of making the Guild a success!

Out of Many One — Celebrating Diversity

We are currently compiling this volume.  Soon it will be in the hands of our wonderful volunteer editor, Dorothy Tinker.  A special thanks to Dylan Drake for volunteering to create our cover.

Join us on Friday, April 28 from 8pm to 10pm at the Wyndham Hotel — Medical Center for the release party.  Fun games, author readings, and networking opportunities with conference agents and editors are on the agenda for the evening.
